Get involved

Context and needs

Most young people have heard of Erasmus+, but almost none of the European Solidarity Corps, the right of petition or the EU Youth Dialogue. European citizenship remains, for many, a textbook chapter rather than a set of rights and opportunities they can use.

Objectives

The project aimed to highlight the meaning of European citizenship and community involvement: knowing the Union’s values and citizens’ rights, the programmes and tools for young people, local involvement as a starting point for European participation, intercultural dialogue and challenging stereotypes.

Activities

Non-formal education methods: role plays, debates, creative workshops, activities in the host community and reflection every evening. Each national group presented the state of youth participation in its country and proposed a local action for after the mobility.

Results and impact

Local action plans for each group, a much better understanding of the European tools for young people, and intercultural competences documented through Youthpass.
