Inclusion+

Context and needs

Hate speech is not just a language problem. For young people from vulnerable groups it translates into exclusion from activities, spaces and opportunities. The partner organisations, from five countries, all worked with vulnerable young people and needed common tools to respond.

Objectives

Promoting the value of inclusive communities for vulnerable young people, by: developing knowledge of social rights and social inclusion; skills to counter hate speech, online and offline; creating four tools for the visibility of vulnerable young people; the ability to implement local actions and campaigns; involving local stakeholders in inclusion activities.

Activities

Nine working days at the Youth House in Timișoara: analysis of the situation in each country, social rights and the European Pillar of Social Rights, identifying and countering hate speech, study visits and presentation of FITT projects, workshops creating tools through storytelling, campaigns and theatre, planning and implementing local activities, action plans and final evaluation with Youthpass.

Results and impact

All planned activities were carried out. According to the final evaluation, participants reported greater openness towards young people from different cultures, more confidence in their ability to get involved in the community, a deeper understanding of the tools that secure access to social rights and a stronger sense of European belonging. The partnerships with the four organisations were strengthened.
